Enhancing wellness is important to most people. Being in the best state of wellbeing allows for the possibility of greater enjoyment of life. This is not something that just happens without our intentionality. It is too easy to sit around, eat poorly and be in a state of frustration.

In order to counter those habits, daily practice is essential. What this practice consists of will differ with each individual. This may consist of exercise in any form, Qi Gong or T’ai Chi, meditation, prayer, or spending time with loved ones. The important factor is that the practice is done regularly, preferably on a daily basis.

The benefits to this practice are not only the specific benefits of the practice, it is also the benefit of the rhythm it sets in life. Our lives are driven by rhythms. Each breath, each heartbeat is rhythmic. Note that we each sleep, eat and perform daily activities. For many people, a daily schedule is important to keep us on track. While others prefer greater spontaneity, there are still rhythms to our lives.

So, take some time each day to engage in a practice. It can vary, it doesn’t have to be boring. Setting aside 15 minutes, or more, to engage in a practice each day will enhance your wellness.
